INDUSTRIAL ENGINES

When you open up a household appliance, you may see an engine inside. Industrial engines, however, are very different. Not only are these engines more powerful, but they are also designed to work outside of appliances or other specific applications. industrial-engineIn most cases, companies buy or rent industrial engines to use as a power source or for electricity generation. The gas, oil, and construction industries often use industrial engines for heavy jobs, as do many other industries.

Most industrial engines are designed for very long-term and hard use. These engines simply provide more power over a much longer period of time than most other engines. Plus, there are a variety of industrial engines to meet your needs. Indoor and outdoor engines are available, as are gas, diesel, natural gas and propane industrial engines. In addition, there are industrial engines for roadside jobs and for stationary jobs. Some manufacturers even create custom generators for specific tasks that industrial engines cannot handle. Whether you need to power something indoors or in the middle of nowhere, there is an industrial engine out there for your needs.

When buying industrial engines, your main objectives should be to find machines that operate economically for a long period of time without requiring stops or maintenance. This is especially true if you will be using the engine in a remote location. Look for low pollutant emissions and good fuel economy. Size of the engine does not matter – many industrial engines are rather bulky, but as long as they provide the power you need at a cost you can afford you will have the engine you need.

Whether you want to rent or buy industrial engines, look for a company offering:

  • Their own service center or service technicians. In an industrial setting, down time is often very costly. Look for a company that will offer you assistance when you need it or consider hiring a separate service for your industrial engines. Do keep in mind, however, that repair of these engines is specialized work and you can expect to pay extra for such a service. Always ensure that technicians doing work on your engines are certified and insured.
  • Comprehensive warranties. A good warranty ensures that you will not have to pay out of pocket if your industrial engine starts having trouble right away.
  • A wide selection. Even if you have you heart set on one engine, look for a company offering industrial engines from a wide range of manufacturers. Lister-Petter, Mitsubishi, Ford and Hatz are a few of the major manufacturers.
  • Parts. Look for a company that can order or sell you the parts you need for your engine. If your industrial engine breaks down, it will be convenient if you can easily find the parts you need.
  • Expertise. Look for a company that is trusted by a number of industries and professionals.
